First time here and was definitely worth coming. From the moment we stepped through the doors we were very happy. We were greeted with a lovely member of staff who greeted us with a smile & made us feel very welcome. The food was served hot & every part of it was delicious. The restaurant is very clean & has a welcoming atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this restaurant & will definitely be returning again.

First time going to this restaurant and couldn't fault it. Food was amazing and quick. Lovely warm welcome. Staff couldnt enough for you. Definitely go back again and would recommend to anyone.

Decided to try here instead of our normal Indian takeaway due to a much quicker estimated delivery time (30-50 mins). In actual fact it took over an hour and half to come. We had onion bhajis to start which were like rubber! And the other food didn't taste of anything and definitely needed seasoning. It cost £50 for 5 items, our normal Indian gives us free poppadoms for spending a lot less, this was not the case here. Late delivery and tasteless unfortunately will not be reordering from here.

A truly amazing find while on holidays. Food freshly prepared and very flavoursome with each dish having a distinctive flavour. Waiter attentive and helpful with suggestions on what to order and how much to order. Friendly atmosphere. A delightful evening.

We ordered a Korma, Madras and Rogan Josh and the Korma and Rogan was way too hot to eat. My dad said the Madras was super hot too, and he managed half of it. We thought we could rely on a Korma being mild, which it wasn’t. I e-mailed to explain, not asking for a refund just to point out. I said I wouldn’t add a review, but having not even got an acknowledgment of my e-mail, I thought I’d review anyway! Such a shame as the 2 staff members we met were lovely!

years ago this was my favourite Indian, but the food went downhill so we stopped eating there. However we decided to give it another go! Bad mistake.... The starter was tastless and just a bright red mush it should of been onion bhaji, the main was okay-ish for taste but was more a thick paste and dry (no sauce) with hardly any meat! that should a been chicken dupiaza....which is normally a favourite dish of mine.
I've only given two stars because delivery was so prompt and guy looked smart.

This is my favourite takeout indian, my favourite dish is the chicken jalfrezi balti it is so flavoursome and is packed full of fresh ingredients. Recently ate in and it was clean and welcoming and food was amazing. Nice family run establishment.

We've had 2 deliveries -both superb. Not local to us but the food arrives piping hot.
Excellent food. Very fresh ingredients and flavoursome.
Nice, friendly delivery guy too.

I know there are lots of 5 star reviews about this restaurant and I can only put my experience down as a blip on their part but after receiving my order costing nearly £70 I was lets say very disappointed. I have eaten in most Indian restaurants or had deliveries over the past 25 years that I have lived in Telford and never has a delivery quite as bad as this. All 5 curries ordered tasted very bland, even my teenage son commented on his curry not tasting very nice even before I had mentioned anything !! The chips looked and tasted as though they had been sitting out all day and just re-heated for a few minutes before being put into a brown paper bag, I dont normally post bad reviews like this but I can honestly say there are so many good Indian restaurants in Telford to choose to have a good meal from and that A Jewel In The Crown is in the minority class, I just thought I would try a different Indian delivery for a change which back fired on me, Lesson learned stick to what you know is best "Spice Island"

An honest 5 star review. I've eaten here (under various owners) for years, and it's always been good. The new owners are working hard to raise the already high standards. In fact, my starter (nargis kebab) was one of the best I've ever had
